Captain Hsieh Pei-hsün (謝沛勳), a pilot officer, piloted a Dassault Mirage-2000 fighter aircraft yesterday (10th Sept) evening to carry out a night flight training crash into the sea, and the pilot were successfully ejected, and after being rescued by the coast guard ship, he went ashore in Taichung Port in the early morning of today (11th Sept) and was sent to Tungs’ Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital for medical examination.
Military sources pointed out that Captain Hsieh Pei-hsün was successfully rescued by the Coast Guard ship (No. 3580) at about 10:39 p.m. on the 10th, and the personnel on board informed Hsieh that he was conscious and was connected by the Coast Guard ship to Taichung Wuqi Fishing Port at 1:20 a.m. today, and took an ambulance to the Tung’s Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital.
Hsieh arrived at the Hospital at about 1:35 a.m. today, conscious and did not respond to media inquiries at the scene, and was taken to the emergency room by medical staff for injury examination. It is understood that Hsieh Pei-hsün will be examined in the hospital and kept in the hospital for observation, and will be transferred to the Taiwan Military Hospital for follow-up treatment.
The Air Force Command pointed out on the evening of the 10th Sept. that the Mirage 2000 (single-seat, number 2047) piloted by Captain Hsieh Pei-hsün of the Second Air Force took off from the Hsinchu base at 8:05 p.m. on the 10th for night flight training.
The Air Force said that at the moment of the incident, it immediately ordered a search and rescue operation, and dispatched one S-70C and one C-130 aircraft at 8:52 p.m. and one C-130 aircraft at 9:03 p.m. to carry out a search and rescue mission off the coast of Hsinchu.
飛官謝沛勳上尉於昨晚（10日）駕駛幻象戰機執行夜航訓練時不幸墜海，幸運的是他成功彈射逃生，並被海巡船艦救起。今天（11日）凌晨，他被送往台中港，隨後轉送至童綜合醫院進行醫療檢查，並將在院內觀察。
軍方人士透露，謝沛勳上尉於10日晚上10時39分被海巡船（編號3580）成功救起，船上人員表示他意識清晰。凌晨1時20分，他被轉運至台中梧棲漁港，隨後搭乘救護車前往童綜合醫院梧棲院區。
謝沛勳於凌晨1時35分抵達童綜合醫院，雖然意識清楚，但未對現場媒體的詢問作出回應，隨後被醫護人員送入急診室進行檢查。據悉，他將在醫院內接受進一步檢查並留院觀察，之後可能會轉送至國軍醫院進行後續處理。
空軍司令部於10日晚間表示，謝沛勳上尉駕駛的幻象2000型機（單座，編號2047）於晚上8時5分從新竹基地起飛進行夜航訓練，並在8時35分返場時發現動力失效，隨即彈射逃生。
空軍方面表示，事發後立即啟動搜救行動，於晚上8時52分和9時3分分別派遣S-70C及C-130型機前往新竹外海執行搜救任務，最終成功找到謝沛勳上尉，救援行動圓滿完成。空軍感謝各界的協助，並將成立專案小組調查事件原因。
