Taiwan’s premier, the president of Executive Yuan Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) received a delegation of Keith Krach, chairman the The US-Taiwan Business Council (USTBC) this afternoon (4 Sept).
Cho said that Taiwan-US trade has developed in full swing, and major science and technology factories such as Taiwan Semiconductor Power have also invested in the United States, and US technology companies have also increased their investment in Taiwan.
Cho Jung-tai said that he believes that only freedom and democracy can bring true prosperity and progress, and that when Taiwan and the United States have further exchanges, the democratic supply chain will be stronger.

Cho said that today is the opening of the semi-national exhibition, and he saw many American companies participating in the exhibition in the morning. Taiwan and the United States have very good exchanges and cooperation in the field of semiconductors, and he welcomed a delegation of high-tech companies led by Krach to visit Taiwan.
Cho Jung-tai said that Taiwan and the United States have close trade, and last year’s trade volume has reached 127.5 billion US dollars, and TMSC, MediaTek and other large factories have invested in the United States, while Google and Amazon have also increased their investment in Taiwan.
He said that Taiwan and the United States are not only democratic partners, but also have seamless cooperation in science and technology.
Cho expressed the hope that the trade obstacles between Taiwan and the United States will be further resolved, especially in key areas such as semiconductors and electric vehicles, and that he hopes to create more opportunities for bilateral relations.
He said: “As a result, we can further solve the barriers to economic exchanges and investment between the two sides, especially in key areas such as semi-missiles and electric vehicles, and create more opportunities for Taiwan to join the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) in the future, and jointly realize the prosperity and development of the Indo-Pacific region.”
Cho said that the government has promoted the “Fund of Ten Billion Youth Realizing Dream in Oversea” (百億青年海外圓夢基金), hoping that when Taiwan sends young people to the United States for study next year, the advanced enterprises here can give more care, and when talents are further exchanged, the democratic supply chain will be stronger.
Keith Krach said that the purpose of the delegation’s visit to Taiwan this time is not only to deepen mutual investment between the two sides, promote innovation and trustworthy cooperation in science and technology, but also to maintain a secure supply chain.
Krach said that the key word in Taiwan-US relations is “trust,” and Taiwan-US relations are built on the basis of mutual “trust,” and there can be no prosperity without freedom. “Supporting Taiwan is the biggest cross-party consensus between the two parties in the United States”, Krach said.
Krach said that The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue eastablished a platform to train Sci-tech leader, when he met with Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍), he also discussed whether Taiwan should join, and the science and technology courses of this platform are also closely related to the five major industries promoted by the government, and he hopes to cooperate with the Taiwan government.

卓榮泰指出，台美貿易關係密切，去年的貿易額已達1275億美元，台積電、聯發科等企業在美國投資，而谷歌、亞馬遜等公司也在加大對台灣的投資。他強調，台美不僅是民主夥伴，科技合作也非常緊密。
他希望能進一步解決台美之間的貿易障礙，特別是在半導體和電動車等關鍵領域，為雙方關係創造更多機會。
他表示，這將有助於解決雙方經濟往來和投資的障礙，並促進台灣加入印太經濟架構（IPEF），共同實現印太地區的繁榮與發展。
卓榮泰還提到，政府推動的「百億青年海外圓夢基金」旨在明年將更多台灣年輕人送往美國學習，希望在座的企業能給予更多支持。他強調，隨著人才的進一步交流，民主供應鏈將更加堅固。
柯拉克表示，此次訪問團來台的目的是深化雙方的相互投資，促進創新和可信賴的科技合作，並維護安全的供應鏈。
他指出，台美關係的核心在於「信任」，這種關係建立在共同的信任基礎上，沒有自由就沒有繁榮。他強調，支持台灣是美國兩黨間最大的跨黨派共識。
柯拉克還提到，他成立了「柯拉克科技外交學院」，旨在培訓科技領袖。他與外交部長林佳龍會面時，討論了台灣是否應加入該平台的議題，並表示該平台的科技課程與政府推動的五大信賴產業密切相關，希望能與台灣政府展開合作。
