Yang Chih-yuan (楊智淵), vice chairman of Taiwan’s National Party (台灣民族黨), was arrested by authorities in China in August 2022 and detained than two years, and it was a news that he was sentenced to nine years in prison on charges of “separatism” recently. The ROC‘s Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) said that both the government and the family refused to accept the verdict and issued a severe condemnation, demanding that the CCP immediately release the verdict and explain the relevant sentencing evidence.
Liang Wen-chieh (梁文傑), the deputy minister and spokesman of the MAC, pointed out at a press conference on Thursday (September 5) that the charges against Yang Chih-yuan by the Chinese Communists are actually accusing the daily life of the vast majority of Taiwan people, and the CCP aim to use this case to intimidate the people of Taiwan. It also happens to confirm that the CCP’s 22 opinions on punishing ”Taiwan’s separatists“ are actually aimed at all Taiwan people.
Liang Wen-chieh said that if the CCP want, any Taiwanese can be convicted as a ”Taiwan’s separatist“ or ” leader of Taiwan’s separatisn“. The CCP uses both soft and hard hands to lure the Taiwan people to the mainland, and a small number of local collaborators and online propagandists used by the CCP also echo the CCP’s demands in an attempt to relax everyone’s defense. He said: “The government once again reminds the people of Taiwan that they should carefully consider the necessity of going to the mainland and pay attention to the differences in laws and regulations and systems between the two sides of the strait.”
Liang Wen-chieh pointed out that according to the current information, Yang Chih-yuan is ruled by the Wenzhou court, and Yang Chih-yuan is currently in Wenzhou(溫州), and the government will maintain close contact with his family.
The case occurred in August 2022, an hour after the then-speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi returned from a visit to Taiwan, Chinese authorities said that the State Security Bureau of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, had arrested Yang Chih-yuan, a Taiwan man, on suspicion of endangering national security for his long-term separatist activities for Taiwan independence.
In April last year, the Wenzhou City Procuratorate in Zhejiang Province indicted him on suspicion of separatism, and in August this year, the Ministry of State Security further charged Yang Chih-yuan with being a Taiwan independence leader, and he has been arrested and examined.
台灣民族黨副主席楊智淵於2022年8月在中國被當局逮捕，經過超過兩年的拘留，最近傳出他因「分裂國家」罪被判刑9年。陸委會表示，政府及其家屬均不接受此判決，並對此表示強烈譴責，要求中共立即公開判決書，並說明相關的判刑證據。
陸委會副主委兼發言人梁文傑在9月5日的記者會上表示，中共對楊智淵的指控實際上是在針對大多數台灣人的日常生活。他指出，中共的目的是利用此案來威嚇全體台灣民眾，展現其長臂管轄的實力，這也印證了中共所推行的「懲獨22條意見」實際上是針對所有台灣人民的。
梁文傑強調，如果中共願意，任何台灣人都可能被標籤為「台獨分子」或「台獨頭目」。中共透過各種手段，試圖引誘台灣民眾前往中國，少數在地的協力者和受到中共利用的網路宣傳者也在呼應中共的要求，企圖削弱民眾的警惕。他提醒國人，應該仔細考慮前往中國的必要性，並注意兩岸法律及體制的差異。
他指出，目前掌握的資訊顯示，判決楊智淵的法院為溫州法院，而楊智淵目前身在溫州，政府將與其家屬保持密切聯繫。
該案件發生在2022年8月，當時美國眾議長佩洛西結束訪台，離開台灣一小時後，中國當局以「長期從事台獨分裂活動、涉嫌危害國家安全」為由，逮捕了台灣籍男子楊智淵。去年四月，浙江溫州市檢察院以涉嫌分裂國家罪對其提起公訴，而中共國安部在今年8月進一步指控楊智淵為「台獨頭目」，並已展開抓捕和審查。
