Lin Chia-lung, the Taiwan’s Foreign Minister
Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung said in an interview this morning (13th,Sept.) that the friendship between Taiwan and Eswatini is stable, and the relevant rumors may be a kind of information manipulation.
United States the Federal House of Representatives’ “China Week” passed the “Taiwan Conflict Deterrence Act”, “Support Taiwan Full Participation in the World Health Organization” and many other proposals to friendly Taiwan and counter China’s authoritarian expansion, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung said that the Taiwan authorities will maintain close contact with the United States Congress and the executive branch to ensure peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the prosperity and development of the Indo-Pacific region.
Foreign media reported that China was luring Eswatini and said that Eswatini was moving closer to China, Lin Chia-lung pointed out that the relevant claims about the loosening of diplomatic relations are not true, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will find out whether the matter involves disinformation or information manipulation.
Lin said, Taiwan and Eswatini not only have frequent high-level exchange visits, but also Ngwenyama Enswadi III personally came to Taiwan this year to attend the inauguration ceremony of PresidentLai Ching-te, and the two heads of state also witnessed the signing of a joint statement by the foreign ministers.
Lin Jialong said: “Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 56 years ago, the cooperation projects have been very extensive, and they have penetrated into various fields, including medical care, agriculture, communications, etc., and even our current ‘Project of prospering the state‘, Africa is focused on Eswatini, and we hope she will become a model. It can make more African countries happy to develop friendly relations with Taiwan.”
The Taiwan-Eswatini Joint Declaration signed on May 21 is the first cooperation document signed between President Lai and a friendly country after taking office, Eswatini expressed firm support for Taiwan’s participation in international organizations, and the two sides pledged to continue cooperation in the fields of economic and trade investment, vocational training, education, women’s empowerment, prevention of information manipulation and disinformation spread, mutual legal assistance, and combating cross-border crimes, so as to jointly promote Taiwan-history relations to the next milestone.
非洲友邦史瓦帝尼傳出與我國邦交可能鬆動的消息，外交部長林佳龍今天（13日）上午接受媒體訪問時表示，台灣與史瓦帝尼的邦誼依然穩固，相關傳聞可能是資訊操弄的結果。他強調，台灣與史瓦帝尼在今年5月簽署的聯合公報不僅彰顯了雙方深厚的友誼，外交部也將史瓦帝尼視為非洲的重點合作對象，並全力推動其成為「榮邦計畫」的典範。
美國聯邦眾議院在「中國週」期間通過了多項支持台灣的法案，包括「台灣衝突嚇阻法」和「支持台灣全面參與世衛」等。林佳龍表示，我國政府將與美國國會及行政部門保持緊密聯繫，共同確保台海的和平穩定及印太地區的繁榮發展。他指出，這些法案反映了民意，並表示歡迎與支持。
外媒報導稱中國正在試圖拉攏史瓦帝尼，並指出該國正逐漸向中國靠攏。對此，林佳龍表示，邦交鬆動的說法並不準確，外交部將調查此事是否涉及假訊息或資訊操弄。
林佳龍還提到，台灣與史瓦帝尼之間的高層互訪頻繁，史瓦帝尼國王恩史瓦帝三世今年親自來台參加賴清德總統的就職典禮，兩國元首共同見證了外交部長簽署的聯合聲明。他指出，自建交56年以來，雙方在醫療、農業、通訊等多個領域展開了廣泛而深入的合作，並希望透過「榮邦計畫」，使史瓦帝尼成為其他非洲國家與台灣發展友好關係的示範。
台灣與史瓦帝尼的聯合聲明於5月21日簽署，這是賴總統上任後與友邦簽署的首份合作文件。史瓦帝尼表達了對台灣參與國際組織的堅定支持，雙方承諾在經貿投資、職業訓練、教育、婦女賦權、防制資訊操弄與假訊息傳播、司法互助及打擊跨境犯罪等領域持續合作，推進台史關係邁向新的里程碑。
