5th Tactical Mixed Wing demonstrated the missile installation operations of F16V fighters.
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced its latest arms sales to Taiwan on 16th Sept, an “Air Force spare parts Repair and Return” case with a total price of US$228 million (approximately NT$7.26 billion) to support Taiwan’s modernization of its military and maintaining its reliable defense capabilities.
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency issued a press release on the evening of the 16th stating that the State Department had approved the arms sales. This is the 16th arms sale to Taiwan under US President Joe Biden.
According to the press release, the arms sales include the repair and return of aircraft and related equipment spare parts, engineering, technical and logistical support services provided by the U.S. government and contractors, and other related projects. Spare parts will be sourced from US stock.
The press release stated that this arms sale will enhance Taiwan’s ability to deal with current and future threats, help Taiwan modernize its military, maintain reliable defense capabilities, and benefit its security and regional stability, military balance, and economic progress. It will not change the basic military balance in the region.
Karen Kuo (郭雅慧) , spokesperson of Taiwan’s President Office said that Taiwan’s maintenance of adequate self-defense capabilities is the basis for maintaining regional stability. The Office of President thanks the U.S. government for continuing to strengthen the Taiwan-U.S. cooperative partnership based on the “Taiwan Relations Act” and the “Six Assurances.” Work with China to safeguard regional peace and stability.
美國國防安全合作署（DSCA）於16日宣布最新的對台軍售案，名為「空軍開放式零附件修理回運」，總金額達2.28億美元（約合新台幣72.6億元），旨在支援台灣現代化軍隊，確保其防禦能力的可靠性。
根據DSCA於16日晚間發布的新聞稿，這項軍售已獲得國務院的批准，這是美國總統拜登任內第16次對台軍售。
新聞稿中提到，此次軍售將包括飛機及相關設備的備件修理回運，並提供美國政府及承包商的工程、技術和後勤支援服務，以及其他相關項目。這些備件將來自美國的庫存。
此外，新聞稿指出，此次軍售將增強台灣應對當前及未來威脅的能力，協助其軍隊現代化，維持可靠的防禦能力，對台灣的安全、區域穩定、軍事平衡及經濟發展均有正面影響，並不會改變該區域的基本軍事平衡。
總統府發言人郭雅慧指出，台灣擁有足夠的自我防衛能力是維持區域穩定的根本。總統府對美國政府基於「台灣關係法」和「六項保證」的支持表示感謝，並期待雙方持續加強合作，共同維護區域的和平與穩定。
