A traditional highlight was the flyover of a Mirage 2000 fighter jet by the Air Force, adding grandeur to the celebrations.
Additionally, a Black Hawk helicopter soared over Taipei, symbolizing the nation’s strength and unity. The honor guards of the ROC and its marching band led a ceremonial military parade, showcasing national pride.
Student performers from Taichung’s Shin Min High School captivated attendees with a colorful display inspired by Taiwan’s nickname, “Formosa,” utilizing floral imagery.
President William Lai and other officials delivered speeches, emphasizing Taiwan’s resilience and cultural heritage during the event.
The celebrations kicked off yesterday evening with the Presidential Office Light Show, which continues through the night. Earlier, Taipei 101 illuminated the skyline with spectacular fireworks, a tradition that also runs into the evening to mark this national occasion.
